CARBONATE

The carbonate ion is a polyatomic anion with the empirical formula CO32- and a molecular mass of 60.01 daltons; it consists of one central carbon atom surrounded by three identical oxygen atoms in a trigonal planar arrangement. The carbonate ion carries a negative two formal charge and is the conjugate base of the hydrogen carbonate ion, HCO3-, which is the conjugate base of H2CO3, carbonic acid.

Immediately wipe excess material off skin with a dry cloth then wash with soap and plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing in a manner which limits further exposure. Otherwise, thoroughly clean contaminated clothing and shoes before reuse. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION.	In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes using an eyewash fountain, if available. Lift upper and lower lids and rinse well under them. GET MEDICAL ATTENTION, preferable an ophthalmologist.
