Aluminium hydroxide oxide or aluminium oxyhydroxide is found as one of two well defined crystalline phases, which are also known as the minerals boehmite and diaspore. The minerals are important constituents of the aluminium ore, bauxite.

Nickel oxyhydroxide battery (abb. NiOx) is a new type of primary (non-rechargeable) cell. Batteries of this chemistry are sold under the brand names Duracell Power Pix and Panasonic Oxyride. NiOx batteries excel in high-drain applications such as digital cameras, and in this role, they can provide up to twice the life of an alkaline battery.
